Joshua Lynn

Joshua E. Lynn is a founding partner of Lynn & O’Brien, LLP. As a Santa Barbara native, Josh started his career here in the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office. During his 15 years there, Josh became a Senior Prosecutor, Chief Trial Deputy and Acting District Attorney and, notably, was the lead prosecutor in the first degree murder conviction of Jesse James Hollywood. In 2006, he was the recipient of the Thomas Guerry Award for Excellence.

Since entering private practice, Josh has been focused on client relationships and problem solving. His zealous client representation and extensive trial experience have proved invaluable to a vast array of clients. Josh is a skilled trial attorney with significant jury trial experience. He focuses on civil claims involving construction and labor law, premises liability, personal injury, professional and medical negligence, civil rights violations, breach of contract and property disputes and has successfully prosecuted and defended these cases. Josh leads much of the firm’s major litigation and brings unparalleled jury trial experience to every client’s current or potential need to litigate virtually any matter. Within one year after leaving the District Attorney’s office, Josh won over $9 million in jury verdicts, penalties, and fees in a major construction fraud trial.

Josh earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science at UC Santa Cruz where he graduated in 1992. Josh then went on to attend The University of San Diego School of Law where he graduated in 1995 and was the recipient of the American Juris Prudence Award. During his law school career, Josh was President of the Public Interest Law Foundation.

Josh is a member of the California Bar and is admitted to all State and Federal courts in California. Josh has been happily married to Dee Dee for 29 years, and is the proud father of two children.

Elizabeth O’Brien

Elizabeth O’Brien is a founding member of Lynn & O’Brien, LLP and her practice focuses on personal injury, criminal law and civil litigation. Liz vigorously represents those who have suffered an injury or loss of a loved one with expertise and compassion.

Prior to joining the firm, Mrs. O’Brien was a Deputy District Attorney for the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office, where she reviewed, evaluated, and tried a variety of misdemeanor and felony cases.

Liz was raised in Santa Barbara and has an undergraduate degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She lived in New York City after her undergraduate degree and then returned to her hometown to receive her Juris Doctor from Santa Barbara College of Law, where she graduated summa cum laude and was the recipient of three Witkin Awards for Academic Excellence and three Thomson Reuters Awards for Scholastic Achievement.

Liz is an adjunct professor at the Santa Barbara College of Law, a Grizzly Club member of the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation and a Board Member for the Hope Elementary School District. Liz resides in Santa Barbara with her husband and three daughters.

Angelina Lane

Angelina Lane is a Partner at Lynn & O’Brien, LLP. She was admitted to the California Bar in 2008, and spent her first years as an Attorney in private practice where she specialized in Civil Litigation and Construction Law. She was then recruited to join the Santa Barbara District Attorney’s office as a Deputy District Attorney at the Santa Maria office.

Since joining Lynn & O’Brien, LLP in 2011, her focus has been in Civil Litigation and concentrated primarily on Personal Injury, including Plaintiff’s cases for Civil Rights actions, Employment Litigation, Appellate work, and Criminal Law in both the State and Federal Courts. Angelina also works extensively with the California Appellate Project, undertaking Criminal Appeals in an effort to rectify potential abuses within the court system.

Angelina has an unwavering approach to the law and is a strong legal advocate. Devoted to her clients, she specifically tailors the litigation approach to the individual needs of each case, considering time restraints, budget, and long-term goals of all persons involved. Recognizing that the ultimate success of any legal partnership is built on trust, Angelina always ensures that client needs are addressed successfully in any settlement or resolution. This detailed and compassionate approach has resulted in the successful handling of a wide range of issues for individuals, families, and businesses.

Angelina is a Southern California Native born in Santa Barbara with longtime family roots both here and in Carpinteria. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at California State University, Long Beach in 2004, where she majored in Sociology and minored in Criminal Justice. After graduating from Cal State, Angelina went on to attend Chapman University, Fowler School of Law, earning the degree of Juris Doctor.

Angelina resides in Carpinteria with her husband, three children, and one furry, four-legged child. She enjoys exercising, traveling, and spending time with her family. An active member of the community and an avid supporter of local business, including local non-profit organizations, where she focuses on giving back and raising funds for charitable efforts. Angelina is a Board Member of Girl’s Inc., Carpinteria inspiring girls to be strong, smart, and bold.
